Licence¶
usnjrnl-forensic is released under the Apache License, Version 2.0. You are free to use, copy, modify, and distribute the software, subject to the licence terms.
Acceptable use¶
usnjrnl-forensic is designed for lawful digital forensics and incident response. You agree to use it only for purposes that are legal in your jurisdiction.
Prohibited uses include but are not limited to:
- Acquiring, imaging, or analysing systems, disks, or data without authorisation.
- Any activity that violates applicable computer fraud, data protection, or privacy laws.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to analyse any disk image or artifact you process with this tool.
No warranty¶
usnjrnl-forensic is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Security Ronin Ltd makes no representations regarding fitness for evidentiary, legal, or regulatory purposes. Forensic findings should be independently corroborated; use in official proceedings is solely at the user's discretion and risk.
Limitation of liability¶
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Security Ronin Ltd shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of the use or inability to use usnjrnl-forensic.
Changes¶
If these terms change materially, the effective date above will be updated and a note will appear in the release changelog.
